Default New VTR purchase, maybe

Have been looking at buying new leftover superhawk. After looking through dozens of forums here it seems that many have same problems. As this deters me somewhat not tottaly turned off yet. My main question is and been unable to find out, did honda make any upgrades-changes to superhawk to solve any of problems like, waterpump seepage issue, cam chain tentioners rectifiers...etc.. As I am currently looking at an 03 and an 05 model, both new $1000 bucks difference. Any info on these subjects much appreciated seems like realy cool bike to add to my collection. Jim

The water pump issue is long gone and solved itself anyway. Those other things are basically non-issues that get a lot of play. Sometimes, parts wear out. If so, you replace them. The CCTs give plenty of warning, though a few will claim otherwise. And I don't know anyone that has had a failure of the most recent regulator.

Really, the only two downsides to the bike are soft fork springs and low mileage. It's a very satisfying ride, otherwise.

I just picked up a new leftover 2001 today. I'm in love.

I decided to have my midlife crisis while I'm still young enough to enjoy it.

Bought my 2005 Superhawk last May. Highly recommend you get one. Didn't like the color at first but it's grown on me and I get alot of compliments on it. I read about getting a good deal on the bike due to it's hard time finding an audience but ended up with the "deer in headlights" deal. Felt like a total sucker afterwards, but that went away after a couple rides!!!! WOOHOOO!!!!
