2THEMAX, got your parts in today, thank you again, and your right, the fairing stay is pretty tweaked. I don't remember who posted up the sargent seat in the classifieds but i snagged it off ebay the other day and it's already here. I picked up some Mikuni brake brackets for a descent deal and they look good. I'll def. take the undertail from you...can i use the competitin works undertail with it? I know its a cheaper undertail but i have so many other parts to aquire that i could use it as a short term solution. The pic's are nothing special but it's cool t me to see the little by little progress. thanks everyone. oh and sorry for the glare.

tanx, I just picked up a c/f front fender, speedo healer, and a bunch of nit pick parts that i needed and probably over payed for but...whatev. I'm off to Charleston SC for 3 weeks for work so the boxes are gonna pile up while i'm gone. If I end up getting duplicate parts from this build i'll offer them up to anyone in need since you guys have been good to me.

Default Update...

Well I keep getting calls from my wife asking why do boxes keep showing up on the doorstep when she gets home. Being away for business sucks when parts are starting to come in . Johnyisthedevil, your pass. pegs showed up today, you rawk Wingnutt you need to PM your PP addy so I can cover your shipping as I erased it from my pm's on accident. Also the C/F front fender showed up from Egay. I just bought one of two headlights I needed...wow now those are gold plated! I think (knockonwood) that I'll come under the $5000 limit that I gave myself on this to get it road worthy. I'll update with pics in 2 weeks when I get home and get things back on track. Thanks again to everyone that has lent a hand.
Chris

Well back from Charleston and its like Christmas at my house, minus a big package full of parts that I was expecting. I did score a complete set of 2000 plastics w/ tank which i'll pick up next week...so the ball is rolling. I've ended up buy doubles of stuff for various reasons. I'll ended up with two sets of head lights and an extra. Still missing the snorkel though. Oh, all these parts are used and damn near it so its like a dent and ding RC51 so don't expect perfection.

can anyone tell if this undertail is for an SP2, it doesn't seem to fit my subframe, i dunno maybe i'm doing something wrong. Seem like the undertail is to wide.

the undertray (fits both) is held in place by the tail, it doesn't mount to the subframe. the tail goes on first (no bolts) then the undertray is shoe horned in from below and held in place with plastic buttons/clips.
you need to mount the battery tray first. starter relay in front of rectifier (think your's is upside down) converter on right side. the rest of it can be cable tied to the subframe. connect everything up and see where the leads reach.

Your battery tray looks like it is an SP2 model, so it might not fit your subframe? I'm not 100$ on that.

But, as vanessa said, you have to put the tail on first.

I dunno, I'm still green to the RC, but I think i rectified the rectifier posistion, and i'm missing the converter saddle holder doohickey or that would be mounted up as well. Also thanks to Johnyisthedevil for the pass pegs, mounted those up as well. If the pics help, cool, if not I still like looking at my bike

Again, thanks everyone for the help. If you see something that fubar'd let me know please and I'll straighten it out. Chris
