For a first streetbike that's a big one! Please be careful.

A few months ago up here on Vancouver island we had a 21 year kid buy a 2001 GSX-R 1000 as his frist streetbike. He wouldn't stop bragging about how he raced Motocross, had been riding since he was a little kid and knew bikes inside and out. No matter how many times we told him it wasn't a dirtbike he shrugged it off. he rode it home, took it out the next day, and rode into a tree / rock wall @ nearly max speed.

Just keep that story in mind when you're out learning to ride the streets.

PS - Dibs on the exhuast should anything happen

haha dibs, funny cause i have the same story pretty much, I used to race motocross down in englishtown until i had a bad crash where i basically needed to have my knee reconstructed, couldn't walk for 3 months so i know the damage bikes can do so I'm going at this being very careful first starting. Just going to use it to crusie around a little around town and gradually move up from there.

the problem here is that im not afraid of the bike nor my abilities in riding, but with the traffic and unawarness of other autos on the road is the biggest problem. Like anything if you go easy and treat it with respect I should be fine.

the RC was my first bike and I'm glad I chose it over any of the 600 class rides or the new old stock 2003 Kawi zx7rr! Man, that zx7 was calling my name, and is still a top 5 for my good looking bikes scale, But man, I rode one a few months after having my RC and It was very uncomfortable being in that Leaned over position all the time... any way, congrats on your ride, I like that jardine system. good luck , ride safe.

I live in south plainfield, and my gf lives in Parlin. You might see my 04 around every now and then.

Definitely a lot of bike as a first street bike. Just remember to be smooth and dont chop the throttle when it's leaned over...
