Default New Paint Job

My RC has been a bit smashed up after someone ran it over when parked! so after a lengthy legal squabble im finally getting paid now, anyway ive been playing around on photoshop and come up with a paint scheme, what does everyone think? it took a bit of tweaking to make the playboy scheme fit the SP1 but i think it works

also if anyone ever wants the blank image for their own fairing design here it is

i searched the web for a plain white RC51 for ages to edit and gave up so made my own.

I like the Castrol scheme too, but they're almost as common as the standard colours

I love the white and black on the DeP's bike, its my favorite looking bike. I think it looks killer in that pic, I say go for it!

+1 I say go for it, I was thinking about doing this myself but I just can't seem to get over the OEM scheme (Red, Black, Grey) so Im going to tweak that with some white like Greyhounds ride

Dude, l like the look of the playboy model as well but go look at all the rc sponsor models out there other than the castrol design!

Give the bike it's true identity back by reviving one of these.

Some New Sp-1/2 Scans

i like it .. go with black calipers and rotors to break it up and add more attention to detail

the calipers come apart easiliy for powdercoating and go back to gether without a hitch

Thats a great thread with all the pics of old race bikes in, i have been browsing that pondering possible paint jobs, i quite like the Cabin one, and also the Vimto Demon dunlop rep no pic in that thread so here it is for those who havent seen it

other paint job i was thinking about is to copy the vfr/blade inspired one i saw on speedzilla somewhere ages ago white with red and blue down the front gold wheels & i think the bike had arrow cans and ohlins forks and it looked brilliant

US versions are pretty rare in the uk, but theres only 6 RC51's ive seen on the Isle of Wight where i live, one of them is a US import (the black red and silver one, is it a Hayden rep?) and its way WAY better than mine (HRC complete racer ti exhaust, marchesini's, ohlins forks e.t.c) flash git parked next to my shabby looking machine at the bike meet too! only face saving i could manage was mine was quite a bit louder! Though in fairness, the only bikes that had the same paintjob mine had before it went under a Chrysler were the actual Harris honda Race bikes, and 1 other replica (built by harris aswell i think) though that may have been because it was a rubbish paintjob! lol!

I'll work on the playboy rep a bit more, i think some dayglow yellow like Rdp's bike might liven it up a little.

Playboy, as a brand, is so damn cheesy! Do a cool race livery or at least something that the bike was actually raced as. Joey, Castrol, Stars and Stripes , etc etc.

remember that crazy joey racing carrier rep someone did not too long ago? It was a trick bike but the guy airbrushed some of the most remembered "Joey-moments" on the bikes bodywork. Simply amazing if you find the thread.

Unfortunately not, but it was a beautiful machine and no mistake, i know it was an sp1 with an sp2 swingarm and it was a US import with the parts i mentioned, but the exhaust stuck out in my memory! lots of shiney bits, thats all the owner seemed to know ( he didnt know what the exhaust was until i told him what he had!)

what about the 05/06 color, that should be pretty rare.

00-03 red black silver
04 red white silver
05-06 black, dark titanium(?) red.
