First track day on the pig...

Bike did great, seemed to run a little warm though. Usually around 210*-214*. I'm hoping once I get it mapped it might cool down a little bit or is that normal? But anyway it was my 2nd trackday I've ever did and it was even more fun than the first!

What was the ambient temp? 210-214 while running on the track is a little warm.

Nice job getting the RC out to the track where it belongs. Still have the rad fans on the bike? Running coolant/water/water wetter/etc? I'm not sure 210 is that unusual for the RC, I know I've seen over 200 on a warm day.

Tempature was around low 80's I believe. Cooling fans are still on the bike, glad they are. Just running regular 50/50 mix right now, need to change it next time when I run intermediate. The tempature it was running at is usually when the fans kick in so I knew it wasn't overheating, but it usually ran cooler on the street cruising around. Thanks for the replies guys.

Nice job! 214 is a little high for 80ish. Pull your right fan and fab a scoop. Go distilled and a bottle of wetter.

Watch that foot there, good way to snap a foot or a ankle, slide it up on your peg a little.

I'm riding on my tippy toes so I can't go any farther, some aftermarket rearsets may be in order if my knees can take it.

Thanks for the tips. Any reason for just doing the right side? Are those carbon fiber inserts effective at re-directing air?

In novice class they do. That was the last novice day I did so I had to flush it for some water and redline and also do some safety wiring for intermediate.

She sure has come a long way since this post. She's getting some Sato lows today WOOOO!

- Paint with number plates
- Driven clip-ons
- Woodcraft rearsets
- OEM ceramic coated header
- Carbon front fender
- Sato lows in carbon on their way
- and probably some other things I'm forgetting.

Don't think the temp is unusual . The RC like most sportbikes is designed to run "hot" for optimum efficiency and oil film protection for longevity . It may seem counter-intuitive but cool isn't neccessarily better as long as the bike is not overheating . Yes cooler usually means more HP but that's for racebikes for which a lifetime of reliability isn't an issue .
