With the weather finally getting nicer up here, the first track day at SCMP is only a week away. Thanks to this helpful post from Damon Stewart the ignition key switch has been removed and the bike is now kill switch only. I mounted up a 600RR hugger (way more work than it should have been due to a stripped subframe bolt and then a broken extractor), and was able to keep the stock chain guard and rear brake line clamp. I've painted (rattle can) the upper and lower fairings they are just waiting for clearcoat before adding some stickers. The black dragon motogp exhaust looks a lot better after I blacked out the discolored Jardine midpipe with some VHT paint.
I still need to mount up the Scotts steering damper, paint the front fender, find a race tail and then clean up the undertail. The front fender will stay black, but the tail will end up white/black like the fairings.

Nice build bro!! Quite inspiratioinal...How did that first track day go? Good luck on the rest, hope you find a finnishing point, lol, I always seem to break my promises to myself!
Nice bike, and nice exhaust.
Just an FYI, if you were to put that white gasket there, (that the FI's plug into, grey looking plug) yan, turn it over, and put your plug on the underside of your air tank,(and it does seal this way.) You wont have to lift your tank if you ever have to pull your Power commander out, if it were to have issues.
My white gasket there, kept falling to the underside of the tank, with it plugged in like that. So had a hole in my airbox, not so good.
The trackday writeup can be found here. The RC is all back together and running, just waiting on the race tail/undertail now cosmetically. The ebay sticker kit worked pretty good, I may clearcoat the fairing stickers to make them a little more permanent.
I got the Scotts damper mounted up OK, although it was a bit of a pain with the race airbox. I ended up flipping the bracket upside down and that allowed me to get a good seal between the tank and airbox.
did you have to remove the throttle bodies to install the air box?
Yes, the throttle bodies were completely removed to install the airbox. Having the throttle bodies and airbox out also made removing a lot of the wiring easier.
A couple minor updates, installed a radial front brake master cylinder from a 05 CBR1000RR and switched to GP shifting using the VFR/Blackbird shifter. I'm really pleased at how firm the radial master ended up compared to the previous stock master, and with the Vortex clipons there's decent room for the starter switch. I was able to switch my street bike to GP shift at the same time, so I'll get plenty of seat time before the next track day.
All fixed up after the lowside. New frame sliders, brake pedal replaced, scratched lower fairing and exhaust midpipe both repainted. Also replaced the broken front fender (stupid disc lock) with one from 929 and installed a 1000RR front brake master cylinder. (And the chain has been cleaned )
Next projects are new Alth rotors and SBS Dual Carbon brake pads. I would have been doing a solo/race tail, but the Ebay seller decided to take forever to ship it.
Alth rotors are mounted up and SBS Dual Carbon pads installed. Wow, talk about braking power, the whole track day I finally never felt once like I needed more brakes. I think I'll stick with this combo for a while, seems like exactly what I was looking for, not too much initial bite and they just brake harder as more pressure is applied.
