Thanks, I know what you mean. I've had the pleasure of doing a couple already on my other bikes. That spring looks small but is a beoch to get on there!!

Hell Ya Bro!! I'm always down for a ride!!

Only one thing, I have to wait for a new gas tank that will probably take a month or more to get! I tripped over the torque wrench my stupid ass left on the floor as I was loading the scoot on the work table tonight!!!!!!!!

Good thing is, this one is for sale!!!!! if anyone is interested, look in the for sale section under "2006 Gas tank"

This may be a silly question... but what are the coils for? Is it just spark intensity that they increase or something? They look like GSX-R coils... It's just a mod I've not heard of for the RC... curious about information and to know whether you experience a difference.

Next on the grocery list is the: "Dual Slim" 6000K HID kit that Scott's M.S. sells. Awesome quality and the replacment parts are pretty inexpensive should something need replacing down the road. Sure, there is cheaper kits on the market but Scott stands behind his stuff and the customer service CAN'T be beat!

I'm going to give a quick (simplified version) step by step to help clean up the installation if anyone else gets one of these kits...

First modification: Remove the stock bulb adapters and cut the flange off the end (DO NOT DAMAGE BECAUSE THIS IS THE PART YOU NEED!!). then machine out the center so it looks like this.

By juicedstang999 at 2009-02-16

By juicedstang999 at 2009-02-16

Next mod: cut the center part of the dust boot out (the part that hugs the bulb ONLY) and the supplied rubber grommet will snap right in.

By juicedstang999 at 2009-02-16

Next, snip the 2 male spade connectors (blue & black wires) off and pull the wires through the grommet and then silicone up the holes as shown. Cleans up the rear considerably IMHO... And then solder the snipped wires directly to the factory power on the light harness and hide out of the way.

By juicedstang999 at 2009-02-16

Mount the ballast under the factory light housings with supplied 3M tape and tuck all remaining wires into the sides of the fairings and you will have a very clean HID install that looks factory when all mounted on the scooter.

By juicedstang999 at 2009-02-16

And the money shot...

By juicedstang999 at 2009-02-16

And the best part, you can still remove the upper as a whole with only 2 plugs to disconnect just like factory!

NO Suzuki parts parts. They are factory HONDA coils from a late model RR.

You loose a couple of pounds, gain some work room under the fairings and it's a little easier starting.

Those Driven rotors look sweet, I'd like to hear how they compare to the stock rotors.

Actually...

The only reason I got the Samco hose kit is because last season I kept smelling a hint of antifreeze every time I would park the bike and every so often, a little spot of green on the ground where I parked it so, I was to fricken lazy to see what was leaking and just decided to change all the hoses and anything cooling related including the expansion tank etc... instead of just 1 or 2 OEM hoses with the chance of another hose going bad while out on the road away from home considering the bike's mileage (12,000+). The Samco hoses will outlast OEM hoses 5:1 and look a bit nicer to boot. Although, nobody will know they are there except me so the bling factor really doesn't come into play here, besides, I've had a set of Samco Sport hoses on my Hi H.P. Drag car for almost the last 6 years without any issues!
