Default F/S: Carbon Fiber micron highmounts for RC-51

I'm selling my Micron Highmounts off my SP1 that are in pretty perfect condition.

Brand new they are $900 on Microns website, I'm open to offers!

Yeah, and I've priced them up at $729 new from my local shop. I've been looking for a different exhaust and I like the high mounts.

As for the ones posted here.. sounds like he got ripped or is fos. Half of the price new for a used set would be fair. ($350-$400) It says best offer though so....

I had this system, good fit to the bike, great sound, but small feet is a must, there is no foot room.... My heal never came off the mid pipe, and wasnt able to ride the way i wanted to....

I swapped mine for a set of standered, that where valued @ around 450.... FYI

good luck

joe

Default Sp2 micron carbon fiber

I have a set in the same condition but sp2. The system is looks great, sounds great but the small feet is a must. It's ok foot position for the track but not day to day riding. I have sato low now. I hated to take the micron off. I would take the $400 for mine too.

I honestly have no idea how much fab would be needed to fit on a superhawk, but I can't imagine that much because they slip on after the midpipe and I think the two bikes have similar exhaust systems. Let me look into it though.

Yes it can be done.

I adapted a set to my low mount system. I had to make short extensions from the cans to the passenger peg hangers (sorry no close up pics but you can just barely make one out on the left can). RC exhausts are larger diameter tubing than Superhawk so you'll need to make or find thicker gaskets for the superhawk headers if you use the RC mid-pipes. On my setup, I was running aftermarket superhawk low mount mid-pipes so I didn't have that issue.

To adapt the highmount system, you need to either:

A) remove the passenger peg mounts completely and fab a new bracket

or

B) use spacers and very long bolts to greatly widen the mounts to clear the micron mid-pipes.

Option B solution is used by several aftermarket companies.

FWIW, I tried adapting RC headers to my old superhawk (aka superbling). Close but no cigar. I learned all this by first mounting stock RC pipes to the SuperHawk.

BTW, those microns sounded delicious. First buyer who heard it fire up bought the bike at full asking price.

Good luck with the sale.
