I can't believe I'm doing this. 2002 RC51 clean title racebike for sale

Well, it has a tick over 2100 miles on the clock. Suffered a lowside at Jennings, turn 7 (slow right hander if you've never been there) last April. Rode it back to the pits, cleaned her up, and went back out. Bent clipon tube was the worst damage. That was immediately after converting it to a race bike, then deployed and got to race one more time at Barber when I got back. Weekend consisted of one practice session and a 6 lap sprint. Spent most of my time deployed since then, got in about 15-20 laps of practice at Road Atlanta last weekend but didn't race. That's where we sit.

Sharkskinz painted solid red now (pics coming). Not perfect but as you can see in the pics - look just fine from photo distance. Painted with PPG automotive enamel.
Moriwaki low mounts. Cosmetic damage, but worke fine. Cores untouched, mount up fine/straight.
Pair mod with DK blockoff plates and flapper mod, soft rev limiter mod

Fully safety wired for WERA/CCS tech
Woodcraft reasets and clipons
Fresh forks (15-20 laps) from Bob Hayashida at BVH.
Brand new Penske (0 laps) shock - both suspension ends setup for 200 pounder
GP shift setup with spare lever
New in package spare clutch and brake levers
Almost brand new (15-20 laps) RK o-ring chain and Vortex sprockets (520)
Stock coolant reservoir removed - remote overflow bottle
Standard small things like: smaller battery, HRC clutch and brake reservoir covers, HRC seat pad, etc.
No kidding, turn key racebike with a clean title. Yes, you could put it back on the street but no, I don't have the stock bodywork. I do have a bag full of stock parts you can have with it like the stock rearsets, clipons, etc.
Located in Northwest (Ft Walton Beach) Florida. $6900. $6500 with stock shock.


Selling because I am going to a formal school for the Air Force (about 1-1.5 years) during which I won't be allowed to race. No sense in letting it sit for that long, neglected, and I don't know when I'll be able to race again even after the school is over. What school are ya going to? That long sounds like flight school.

That's the one! It's great news, great for the career and such - but it sure puts a damper on anything like motorcycle racing. Probably going to buy a street ride, and maybe I can sneak in a track day now and then.

Do ya have to go through OTC? Army flight school still allowed bike riding, but they made it as big a pain in the ass as possible. Highly discouraged, that's for sure.

Sorry for the delay, just got back from the hurricane evac. Yeah, I have to go to OTS and I can still ride - just can't race. Closed course competition I think is the key phrase.

Thanks 3stripes! Yeah, I'm pretty pumped about it! Sucks that I can't race, but it wasn't very hard to prioritize that vs flight school.

Hey man! Well, I got my pipe situation taken care of, but I guess you'd have a nice set of spares for the RC if you bought this one! Honestly, I think the bike is worth $6500 at a minimum. If it had a salvaged title or something I would be forced to deal more, but considering the condition it's in and the way I know I've maintained it - that's about as low as I can go. I'd never even consider selling it if it were easy to put back on the street, but the Air Force says no racing while I'm in school, so no point in letting it go to waste.
