One of Honda’s genuine HRC customer race bikes, this limited-production motorcycle was offered from the factory as a race-ready RC51. At a cost of $14,950 in 2000, these bikes were available in track-only trim, with track-specific wiring harness, race bodywork, HRC exhaust, and HRC ECU. With an engine rated at 136bhp from the factory, these bikes were indeed Honda’s “Duck Hunters.”
I bought this bike earlier this year. But as much as I love the sound and torque from this beautiful V-twin motor, I miss the thrust of my previous in-line fours. So I am putting this beauty up for sale.
I have spent many, many hours sorting this bike, setting up the suspension and cleaning it up. The bodywork is in excellent shape, and with the exception of a couple minor details the paint is very good quality, ready for your graphics and sponsor decals. This bike is very clean, straight and exceptionally strong. It has recently had full fluid maintenance, including brake, clutch, fork fluids and engine oil changed, and Cool-Aide non-glycol coolant. It is drilled for safety wire.
In addition to the track-ready nature of the bike from the factory, this bike also comes with the following:
Vortex rearsets, including both GP and standard shift arrangement
Attack Performance triple clamps
Woodcraft clip-ons
Ohlins steering damper
Brembo front brake radial master cylinder
Stainless steel brake lines front and rear
Racing front pads
Micron slip-ons
Titanium muffler hangers
Kyle Racing front fork valving
Kyle Racing rear shock link (stock link also included)
520 final drive with 15/41 gearing
Carbon fiber front fender
Carbon fiber heel guards
Michelin Power Race PR2 front, PR5 rear tires with 1/2 day track use
Lockhart-Phillips rear stand
Located in Durango, Colorado. Free enclosed delivery to a track day within 1,000 miles of my location ($700 value). Must sell asap. $6,200 obo.
I gotta sell this to pay for my new bike! Will consider offers! Did I mention the free delivery part?? Here are a couple more pictures. Please feel free to contact me for more pictures and any other details. Thanks!
Thanks!! It's a great bike for the right rider!! I'm not skilled enough to capitalize on its great torque and to keep corner speed up! That's why I need the "crutch" of an in-line four!!
Looking for a track bike but not looking to spend that much. I would however love to add another rc to the collection. What is the LOWEST you will go on this deal?? You can email me if you would like XceedingLimitsSPL@yahoo.com.
Yes, as of last night, I've accepted an offer and deposit for the bike. Looks as though the deal will go through by next weekend. If for some reason it doesn't work out, I'll re-post it here. Thanks for checking it out!
Tim is a real good friend of mine... I sent him your way. I am happy he picked it up. I can't wait to do some laps on that thing at MMP, I hope it is cooler than my 04! BTW, enjoy your new ride you are getting. What was it again?

2004 RC51, ... SOLD... why did I do it!
I have not spoken directly to Tim. I've been working through Todd on this, who has been awesome. But I'm eager to meet them both at MMP this weekend! And I'd love to see this bike in the right hands.
I picked up an '04 Erion Racing CBR1000RR Superstock bike...something I can really embarrass myself on! (They normally use a calandar to time me at MMP, not a stop watch!!) But it should be lots of fun! :-)
