Waving as you pass another rider?
I have noticed that some people do this and others do not. I am just curious as to what people think/do regarding this situation.

There needs to be another option.
Wave to all riders except people on Harleys and Scooters...

I only wave when I pass on the track.

Distant thunder, cold as stone. An RC bellows from its throne. One by one, each bike succumbs. Something wicked this way comes.

In France they stick their foot out instead. Feet are the new hands overthere.

I wave to everyone and I always stop when someone is one the side of the road. The majority of harley riders do not wave nor do they care about anyone on any other bike. I followed this old guy like 15 miles on a harley through some back roads filled with bikes (I was in a car going to a camp ground). He was doing 25 to 30 on a 45 mph road waving only to harley guys smoking a fat cigar crossing overlines going all over the place... ugh...

I never understood why people wave? You're not in some secret brotherhood, you just share a hobby together? I can understand a "nice bike" thumbs up if u see another RC51 or something out of the ordinary, but waving to everyone is just creepily odd to me. With all the other shit on the road to worry about, I'll gladly keep both hands on the clipons and not worry about trying to make everyone think they are my friend. If you want friends you will never see again, get a Facebook account with all the other losers. Just saying.....

I wave to everyone (except scooters), to me it's just tradition and something I gladly participate in.

Sometimes I wave to scooters by accident, then I wish I could take it back.

Harley dudes are much too good to wave to sportbike riders.... we don't fit in to their new-found religion and resulting enlightenment.... shame really, the acceptance of identity-crisis afflicted posers is pivotal to my existence.....

I wave if I have been waved at, unless for some reason I don't feel comfortable doing it (like in a turn). The type of bike doesn't matter. Unless it is a scooter which isn't a bike.

Funny but true the new scooters look like sportbikes from the front.
Not as bad as thinking hot chick when it's really a hippie !!!

I don't wave at scooters. I wave at Harley guys, but I'm starting I give up on it since they are mostly snobs. Yesterday's technology at tomorrows prices must cause them to be uppity...

Here in Greece you get a wave if you ride the same type of bike. Supersport, chopper, sport touring etc.
BMW owners are in their own category. If I come accross a guy with the S1000R, while riding my RC, I won't get the wave even if I wave first.
Also our wave is just headlight flashing.....personaly I like to raise my left hand if it is possible at that moment...it's more human IMO!

I usually don't wave unless I'm in the Odyssey with my family, but even then, its only to other Odyssey drivers.

The BMW fags are almost worse than the Harley pricks. I wave when I feel like it and don't other times. I'm not into waving at squids either.
My wife waved at a scooter last week and learned why we don't wave at them...

Why was this response so predictable? Still, there is some truth in it.
I will wave to most of the other riders nearly all of the time. I think the most snobbish riders are on 'Wings.
