Backfire issues
Rode my Rc the other, runs great but has a little back fire issue. Like maybe the fuel/air mixture is too rich. Mori can's and power commander on it. Any ideas how to adjust it, or do i need a new map?

Previous owner claimed it ran rich a few times. I think I just need a new map. Who know's. It did it before when I shortened my cans. Really didn't wanna do that. Still runs great, might just take it to get dyno'ed and go from there.

Then this is a BIG part of the reson why... strange thing is, before I discounected mine years ago... it would POP ALOT
Since I've removed mine, again, years ago and it doesn't do it anything like before...
I get a few pops here and there nothing I don't not LIKE..
So 1st try removing it, as I think Johnny has made a good call here.
FWIW: I would remove it anyhow and then get you a new EFI map installed!
Peace Jeff

Check the exhaust seals also (those mushy graphite things between pipe joints), they deteriorate over time and cause air to be sucked into the exhaust, often causing popping when the throttle is chopped, and even a visible flame at the tip of the exhaust.

Thanks for all the tips guys. Yeah, found a few things to work on. Keep myself busy this weekend. Talked to a buddy I work with who had an RC, same issue. Just needs a little tlc.
Is it backfiring on decel? If so, that's usually lean condition or exhaust leak, resulting in it sucking in air and burning it. I made some adjustments on my map this week, adjusted low mid and high rpm range on the power commander itself by just one interval and it caused major backfiring on decel.

Answer to your question, yes. Found two leaks, oops.
