Default Losing the upper fairing stay

Made this fairing set with extra support laminated into the upper fairing.
Top section of the upper has a 1 mm fibercore stiffner and carbon fiber sandwich laminmate, thus the fairing stay is no longer required , also filled in the mirror blocks.

Looks good Brett, Now just change your brake/clutch fluid!

I ran without the fairing stay with the stock fairing for a while. It really wasn't bad, but it did vibrate a little bit at higher speeds. I think fiberglass fairings would help just because they can flex a little less than the plastic, but reinforced with honeycomb core probably gets rid of all the vibration.

That looks SICK!

I know MrGrn was making a carbon one for everyone (except me) but I never saw how it turned out. Yours looks so much nicer and cleaner. Well done!

Brett,
Any chance you can make these as an insert that could be glued to the fairing? I need to eliminate the fairing stay so I can get the front end geometry correct and I would love to use your method.

This is something that is on the drawing board as soon as I can find some time, my plan would be to make a carbon molded insert to suit OEM plastics, the internal carbon support would pick up on the mirror mount bolt holes and center front fairing/intake mount.
It's not gunna happen in the the next week but maybe I'll have something available in a few months.

Sorry I didn't follow up on that , too busy ...always !
I have a very good mold to produce this type of undertail, when I find some time I lay one up and post pics.
Cheers , Brett

Would be very interested in one of these fairings. Are you making a race version?
