We put this exhaust on my friends 05 RC51 about two three months ago. It lasted 1500 miles before complete failure but started to show signs of the looming destruction after only a few hundred miles. The exhaust was bought from a member here who makes them. Beware! Almost immediately it started to discolor, and after it split in two it was obvious why. The packing inside the can was done so bad that for the first three inches there was no material.

I am sorry for the issue but can't support customer when i don't hear about it or have a chance to make things right. I would have taken the can back and had it looked at and replaced it no problem, i was not given a chance not much i can do. I have literally sold 30 2-1 mufflers and this is the first i am hearing of it. It sux for sure but i am still wondering why i can't get the contact info of the buyer? I also wonder why you would run a can showing damage then complain about it after failure?

i am honest, this is the first issue other then shanes supposed issue in over 4 years now. i have had nothing but awesome reviews and a whole site full of happy customer pics. I said when i started i was here to support and i meant it. I am here to listen and help and try to bring what people want. Shane had a issue right off and even though it looked odd i made it right as quick as i could and made it right. I have had one other small isuue with a weld rattlin loose and doing what i can to make that right as well. I have to say after all that i have done, and sold i am very please and looking forward to making changes and moving ahead in the positive and right direction. This is not the norm and i am surprised to say the least. I have sold so many of these and have had no other issues like this so i am a bit POed i could not get it back before the intentional destruction so i could examine it. The supplier of the mufflers assured me he dynoed a 51 with two of these with 5000 mile mufflers and did like 5 back to back runs with no damage
I am glad to support my products but this is hard to support and seems more like a witch hunt then a honest attempt for me to provide CS how do i know it does not have 20 dyno runs on it. I am still baffled why you would run a muffler you know is damaged and not make the call or email about it to the supplier(me)?
If this friend had a issue even though i don't warranty carbon as nobody else does i would have glady wanted it back and made it right. AS a supplier my hands are tied to what i hear and see for CS and i do what i can. I don't feel like beating on the can and then complaining was the best way to get a resolve or help me provide better CS

He is very easy on his bike and all miles were commuter miles. He knows he got screwed but is not the type to complain so that's why I posted when I saw you were trying to sell more of these. i have been selling these not "trying" for like 4 years. i shipped 4 slip-on exhaust today alone and have had no issues. you have bad couth in trying to start some witch hunt and your friend should have taken the can off in the first few hundred miles when you admit you knew there was a issue and i gladly would have no problems.
you are not doing your friend and favors and certianly not making a reasonable outcome either. i have a email and phone(your friend knows them i am sure) and the right thing to do would have been to call or email like anybody ele not bash on me after offering me no chance to help or make it right

Mark has been bashing Sato for years and they made it right with him. How is this different? The guy has gone around bashing Sato, Dan Kyle, LDH etc etc about his R1 cans melting. These people are big names in the Industry and ALWAYS make it right yet he continues to harp on his cans that melted.
