Default Fan Issues, Won't turn on at spec temp???

Refilled the coolant this afternoon. Let the bike run till temp reached 215 + deg. fans never kicked on.

Fan fuse is good.

Did a relay swap, nothing happened.

Bench tested fans, they work just fine.

Previous owner did a remote switch. I removed all associated wiring. Previous owner also stated he reversed the rotation of the motors. Dont think spin direction should have affect on operation?

Thanks for all suggestions.

I think I may have discovered the problem. This bike has a SP1 harness and SP2 Rads. I have wires for thermo switches and rads that dont have them. Is there a conversion process that will allow these components to work together without reinstalling a remote switch?

You'll have to put a thermo sensor somewhere in the system, or swap out the wire harness and ecu. A manual switch will make the bike ridable as an easy fix, but can cause problems if you forget to turn them on. I have one too, and it is very nice to have, but the system still works as normal and will come on by itself.

Reversing the direction of the stock fans makes them about worthless as the blades are designed to work in one direction. Buy some spal pusher fans and it will cool much better.

You can act as if you are running a manual switch but instead of going to a switch you splice into the ignition. This way your fans are always on and you can't forget to turn em on. Have run a couple bikes with manual switches and i just left them buggers on all the time when running with never an issue. Its rather simple to swing by a machine/fab/welding shop and they can weld a bung to a piece of al/ss pipe that is the correct size for your rad tubing. Just splice into the rubber tubing somewhere off the left rad, screw in your water temp sensor and plug in the connector. Could always weld a bung to the rad, but i'd not want to take it off which you'd have to do to do the job properly. Shouldn't be very expensive at all.
