i have an rc51 2005,
is there a way i can remove the cannisters.
so i can have a stubby system. without any canisters.
just extend it enough where it sticks out from the side of the bike?
can this be done without losing A SHIT LOAD of power and possible throwing a silencer on it aswell.. somehow without having to change the mid pipes and header pipes.
I think this would be cool looking and id like to lose the weight of the cannisters?
First of all the search function is your best friend. Look at Marks GP cans or Sato GP cans. And no i would never run a bike with out cannisters of any kind. I believe what your askin for would be something like i mentioned above.
I think you are looking for the hot bodies slash cut GP style exhaust also called a mega phone exhaust YouTube - Suzuki GSXR 750 Hotbodies Megaphone Fly By
I don't know if any one makes one for the RC but I met a guy that had one on a gixxer1k and he said it cost him 14 hp but he admitted he is into the sound and look of it and didn't care about the lost hp.

how much do they weigh anyways
No you can't do this. Get a gsxr. I mean you can't do it without running straight pipes. The newer gsxr's muffler is below the bike and just the pipe sticks out. Does that make sense?
well i didnt think this was possible but iv seen shortty cans on an rc51 and i figured if thats possible anything is possible. so figure i ask. i mean theres always something someone has that no one knows about.
someone has a 1000rr that runs straight pipes and did not lose any HP

enough said, i think it would first of all look cool. but second hoping it could be done,..
custom cans would be cool.
iv seen stubby cans on the rc before some guy from UK
down here in FLA region CCS at the homestead and moroso races.... the unlimited GP only pays the purse if the winner is running open exhaust(no mufflers)... i bet they are pumping 200 hp + so.... it can be done, but its gonna take a lot of dyno time and possiblly some motor work to keep it from going lean....
i have seen guys in FLA on the streets that run rc's w/o mufflers... they just slash cut their midpipes from the stock cans... welded in some sort of baffle, and left it like that after chroming the slashcut mids, so it is possible
he was too busy making things that can't work, work
woooooooooooooooooooo!
an if you want to know what my problem with you is , go back an lookat a thread i wrote for a freind on rouge trying to sell his moriwaki rad fins .
mister thread jacker !
oh ya this works!
