Default Suggestions: Transporting Bike

Moving this weekend and going to be putting the bike inside the moving truck. It's a 17' cube truck, not sure of the tie down locations. It will be put in amongst furniture and boxes ect. Is it best the bike be in the race stands or just strapped up tight to the front of the box, or strapped in the middle of the box?

Any suggestions or experience with this would be great?
Thanks

As long as its centered left to right it will be fine. I would put it twards the front and have the front tire resting against the front and then rachet it down all around. When I transport mine I use 4 rachets or more. DONT use the cheap "rachets" that have clamps use actual rachets with gears. I used el-cheapo's before and the bike ended up on its side...thank goodness my trailer had sides!

A Canyon Dancer (goes over clip-ons) helps keep bike centered and stable. Just don't completely bottom out suspension. In a trailer with all your stuff just have to make sure other items do not end up on your bike. Cover it after it's tied down might help too. I would save all the seat cushions and pillows and make a fortress around that baby!!!
Good luck with the move.

best invention is a Baxley Sport Chok(sp)

put it in the front, strap it to the wooden floor of the cube, 2 tie down from the rearsets foward and it wont go anyplace. the canyon dancer is junk IMHP.

Thanks for the ideas guys. So I assume using the race stand is not a good idea then? Just was thinking to keep it straight to begin with then strap it.

I would not use them unless you put something to allow them to grip at the bottom. Wood floor + painted metal = slidding all over
