Default Factory RC30 motor

Just thought this was an interesting ebay auction. I saw it when it first came up w/ a starting bid of $500, didn't take long to shoot up. Apparently a Fred Merkel engine then a Durbhan engine. I don't know too much about the v4's but 135 hp! Wow! Wonder how long it would live for if you actually rode it.

So I know the rc30 engines had the cam gears through the center and I believe that changed w/ the rc45 which moved the gears to one side. But what exactly is NLOB stand for?

eBay Motors: HONDA RC30 NLOB MOTOR (RE: FRED MERKEL/ TEAM RUMI WSB) (item 260286369181 end time Sep-21-08 16:17:41 PDT)

I just creamed in my pants. What would you do with that? How reliable would it be if put in a street machine? So many questions, I wonder what his reserve is?

Don't even think it would be worth using more than a couple times unless a) your're filthy rich; b) you're hoarding a bunch hrc rc30 parts; or c) both a & b.

I would literally cry if the thing blew up considering this motor will probably sell for more than the cost of most new bikes!

Default RC30 engine

I'm sooooo tempted, as I THINK it would be a straight swap for my 93. Whats really bad is that a stock header just went for sell over on Ebay.UK.

That's what I was thinking, rc30 motor in a vfr750 frame. Sooner or later I'll get a vfr for my project replica rc45 or rc212v. Still haven't decided what bodywork to go with, but maybe have two sets just in case I feel nostalgic!

Weren't you the one with the modified vfr? If it is, how are things going with it?

the motor will be fine, plenty of miles on them when they are rebuilt, the stockies had problems and thorsten gets close to 140hp

motor might fetch $7000, maybe more and i would want like $10k for mine
