I dont think so Tim! Im betting that reserve is up around 8k. I dont care if its new... its 8 years old man... its an sp1... not a good deal. I know what the ad says... but I'll be damned if they are gonna keep a "new" bike on the floor for 8 years... I'm bettign he got that form a shop that went under for dimes on the dollar.
This is the same one I posted about 6 months ago. The dealer is in a very small town that is geared mostly to dirt bikes and four wheelers. I have talked to this guy several times. Very stand up guy. Just having a hard time trying to sell something like that in the area that it is in. I hope that bike finds a nice home.

Question & Answer: (from Ebay)
Q: hello this may sound odd but how do you have a 7 year old bike with no miles? someone lost it in the warehouse? thanks ben
A: hello! Yes we do have a seven year old bike with 0 miles. This unit has never been cranked. We live in a very small town. Everyone that has been interested in it have to get it financed and when they finance it they have to get insurance and they couldn't afford the insurance on it. It has just not sold.
HA! I can just about imagine that Honda dealer in that little 'ol town. What the hell are those farm boys gonna do with that piggy on a dirt road?
OK, Question: Seven year old and never cranked. Would there be any problems with the oil sitting in there that long with certain metals exposed or what not? Also, brake fluids probably needs to be flushed since it is hydrophilic and probably bad. Tires are probably crusty. Any other foreseeable issues with corrosion one would need to be concerned with?

Never been cranked implies that there was never any oil put in it, I don't think they put any fluids in it until someone buys it.
I wouldn't imagine anything would be a problem unless it was stored outside.
I'm defiantly not rich enough to buy a outdated machine for sentimental value alone though...
I don't know if it's still their, but there is a Dodge dealership here in MN that has a 1992 Viper RT with no miles on it, I guess they want a lot for it, but no one is buying it because now it's just old, and why spend a lot for that when you can buy a new one for cheaper.
In response to your question, yes the oil WILL go bad, in a few more years it will turn back into dinosaurs and THEN you'll have major problems.....(ever tried to ge a brontasaurus thru a drain hole?!?!?!?!?!)

Didn't sell....didn't meet the reserve with an offer of $6700. Hmmm....I wonder if we'll see it again with a lower reserve?
Why? Pay $6700 for a "new" 8 year old stock bike, or, using an example of whats for sale on here right now... pay $8-9K for an 03' with ohlins front and rear, ohlins damper, exhaust, PC3, tuned, Marchisini (sp) wheels ..... I think I'd prefer the latter

You make a good point, but certainly there's a lot of guys (such as a third owner like myself who has a very nice 2000, bought at 10K miles) who kinda dreamed of getting a zero mile bike as maybe a "collectible" or a nice toy to enjoy. The uniqueness is the 0 miles, of course, and other than that it's an unmolested bike with a warranty. And guys buy SP1s all the time, sooo.....I just thought there might have been more nibbles beyond what was bid.
I guess my point is that by the same token, we're quick to ridicule some crappy, blinged-out, wiring harness disaster of a bike with skull bar ends and blinking LEDs that some guy thinks he's going to get $8K for because of all the "great mods" he's done, but those of us in the know wouldn't give him a penny over $2500 for.
