The tail section i'm modifying at the moment will have the bigger hump.
My friend brought around a sample of it the other day, (sorry, no pics), and i was impressed.
He told me that he would have one out of the mold before christmas, so i'll have something to work with over the break.
As soon as i've got it, i'll post up some pics.
Cheers.

I'll look at both options, fibreglass and carbon.

not for nothing but a quality tail alone is near $600 never mind making them with LED's. They might seem like a easy winner part to sell but if you take the effort and time to make such a tail and sell one for $500 you are going to be in the hole for tons of dough and tons of time, for naught.

there are plenty of guys i know who can take a OEM tail or your carbon and just drill in some LED's where the logo is and or make them act as sigs too.

OH, wait to that fukka falls over and fixing or replacing it becomes impossible

i think tanking a OEM tail and modding it and adding your own(aprilla) tail sigs would not be too tough if that is what you like then sanding and and paint it for less that $150 bux first B4 going $500+ crazy as the lighter carbon tail with signals does not make a ton of sense IMO

Just a quick update for those of you following this thread.

I spoke with my friend today to see how he was progressing with the tailsection.
Unfortunately, i won't have the first sample till mid to late January.
He told me that he's got too much on leading into christmas.
Sorry about this, but it's out of my hands, and i'm not going to rush him.

I don't know how I missed this thread! I have also been working on the same design but going at it a slightly different way.

I am using a local Plexi-glass vacum forming shop to create a perfect mold to mate with the thorston mono tail I bought of another member. As far as geting the shape exact, I couldn't think of a better way to get this accomplished.

Mondial, how are you having the plexi formed?

Scratching our wounds thought of sending you a pic of this tail on the move!
Enjoy Rossi with THE TAIL!

When we gonna have this?

Chris

I haven't quite got there with this part of it yet.

+1 that is what I was thining too.

I would consider a removable units so that removing the stock tail section for rthe subframe woudn't subject the "lens caps" to any of the torsion that it might endure.:twocents

My Endurance Taisection, Pt I.

Hey there everyone.
Sorry its taken so long, but these fires here have had a tremendous impact on a lot of people here, and i've been extremely busy.
Well, here are some pics of my first fitting of my Endurance style tailsection.
It was a bit of a mongrel fitting it to the bike, as my friend made it a little thicker than i expected, but it fits great. Afterall, this is the first prototype.
Over the next few weeks, i'll have a sample of the tail light setup to fit.
I'll be marking it off and cutting out the sections for its first fit.
When i'm at this stage, i'll post up more pics.
Cheers.
