Default Any opinion on ARATA pipes (slip-ons) ?

These pipes seem quite nice to me, but I am not an expert. I see them on the ARATA site and the price is around $1099 for titanium and you can buy the PCIII usb for $ 287 with the ARATA map loaded for free.

If anyone can tell me what they think of those, many thanks.

Note that I do not want anything too loud. That is why I wrote off the Sato's. I do not care for the look of the Sato's low mount, because the canisters are too long and seem to stick out past the rear wheel.

I know that Arata is supposed to be up there in quality with Sato, Mori and Acra but I haven't heard a set in person or used them. I can get you a better price on the PCIII USB and I can see what I can do on the pipes, if you want, let me know.

The only thing I can add is regarding their appearance. I've held them in hands and they were quite nice.

I have a set of carbon aratas and they are definitely top notch not to mention different I have never seen another pair of carbon ones on an RC. They are not as loud as some other slip-ons out there but the sound is quite nice. I felt a definite increase in the mid range when I installed them and after adding a PC3r with a DK Arata map there was an even larger gain. Judging from the dyno charts I've seen I'd say they are on par with other high end slip-ons. You really can't go wrong with these I don't regret my purchase one bit.

Ive got the Atara Titaniums and they are nice and light and built well. All the rivets are external so they are easy to repack or repair yourself. Plus, you hardly ever see them on an RC. I love mine.

I've had Arata Ti's for about two months now. Don't have any complaints except that they are LOUD. But then, any straight through cans with a big twin will be loud. I'd recommend them to anyone - top notch. Note to anyone with new cans: the first time you start her up, take it outside. Backlit by sun I could see a whole cloud of fibers rhumble forth. Your neighbors will be peeved at your early morning Sunday rides too - did I mention loud?

I've got a PCIII usb with a stock map. Didn't know there was an Arata map available. Do you know where I can find one? I'll check the PC site when I have time but right now I need to get back to my budget - it's due tomorrow.

Arata US main site mentions they sell the PCIII usb with a custom loaded map. Maybe you can contact them and ask them whether you can buy or get the map from them since you bought their pipes.

Good luck

Phil
