Thumbs up Thorstens rad scoops

After my first trackday using the radiator scoops all I have to say is what an outstanding product I did a trackday about 3 weeks ago here in AZ under the same conditions (Air temp ~100F, same track) and the RC hit 250 when I decided to end the session. Yesterday the water temperature NEVER went above 200 F and most of the time it remaind between 185-190 F.
This is by far the best aftermarket product for the RC when it comes to controlling high temperatures
Thank you Thorsten

What did it cost you to put those on? Did it require any cutting of the fairing.. if so... what brand of fairing are you using? Did you get the carbon fiber or the glass?

Just send an email (and some money) straight to Thorsten.

I was going to get a set but decided to just get frontmounts instead. i'd rather solve the problem then just put a bandaid over it.

If you don't have the $ for a front mount radiator setup, the Thorsten scoops are the next best thing. Install isn't bad at all. Plus it gives you a chance to flush and change your coolant! The only cutting required is the inner V fairing and trimming the edges on the scoops. I would always run 200 or hotter. Now I'm running 180 and 190. Thorsten makes awsome products that preform very well!

I purchased the fiber glass set for $290. I did have to do some very miner cutting, with a Dremmel using a cutting disk was very clean and simple. I have a set of Hotbodies fairing.
Also keep in mind that I do not have the cooling fans installed (track only RC), which the scoop allow for them, and the drop in temperature is amazing. In par with front mount radiators.
I'll work on getting some pictures posted soon.

How well do you think they will hold up if ya crash.Would they just get crushed or knock a hole in your rad? Would it $290 down the tube? They seem very cost effective but it seems I've been on a crashfest lately.

They mount on the back side of the radiators, so they are fairly well protected.
