ya ebay, wife suprised me for my bday, the breaks work really great, if you ride aggressive then you will notice the diff, otherwise it's just cosmetic, i like the feel i get
Damn, those look pretty good. I was looking at a set in the same scheme the other day and up close you could see a lot of unevenness in the stars and other logos. Yours are much better. I'd like to know what seller she went through, if you ever get the chance to ask her. I do ride hard, twisties only for me. Have heard mixed reviews on the radials.
i have a set of leo's that are being fitted when i get some time, i have the mids on now, hollowed out airbox with custom external airfilter, flapper mod, no emissions and a few odds and ends to follow
200lbs here.. depends on the opinion I suppose, but at corners under 80 I think the stocker works ok. I never had huge concerns with my rear end like I did with the front which well regularly bottom out in braking and corner entry when stock. Ohlins techs agreed that the front was a bigger issue when I had my stuff done. Either way, I got both ends done, just noticed a bigger improvement with the front.
I would agree and disagree. the forks are really nice for stockers component wise. they just need a little tweaking to be in the right range for guys of our size. (I'm about 190ish geared up these days) the rear shock, which worked pretty well for me (believe it or not) is fvckin junk. it looks like it was made by the lowest bidder in a bad way. as if Honda said 'screw it, it's probably going straight in the trash anyway' it's just not a quality piece. and even though it worked fairly well for me there is no comparison between it and the big O. so much better in every way. the most notable(for me) is the composure at apex when picking up the throttle. instead of wanting to spin up and get all sketchy, the bike just does what it's told and squirts off with ease even under more judicious use of the throttle.
I was talking more the functionality of the stockers.. I def agree with your point. I kept my stock forks and reworked them for this reason. Bought a shock
yup exactly, you just can't do enough clicking to get the stock forks to work for guys our size. and don't get me started with that top out spring and trying to get a good sag #.
but functionally yes I agree with you 100% was always more worried about the front loosing it than the back, but component wise it's the opposite. which I think is why we see so many guys doing the same thing ie. tweak the forks and buy a shock.
Thought I'd just post a pic if My RC as well.. Feel more than a bit envious on people here who seem to have the nicest RC's.. I have a long way to go..
