Default sprocket & chain?

I have a question, I have a sp1 and it needs to have the sprockets and chain replaced, can anyone give me an idea of what chain and sprocket to get, I know I am done with a aluminum sprocket, and I have a 520 chain on it which I hope to replace with a 530 chain, I was going to go with Afam, but if anyone has any other suggestions I would apreciate it. Thanks....also what is a good sprocket upgrade from stock?

Stay with the 520 chain.....less weight and all that....

I have seen on here before that 16/41 is ideal.....I run 15/42 but i don't ride on the road anyway....

even so, stay with the 520 chain ..!

For street riding in the uk.....dunno dude but would definately use a 42 rear sprocket even if you keep a 16 front....

Hope that is some help!!!!

Chain: DID brand in the 520 size (ERV2 or ERV3)

Sprockets: AFAM or Renthal

530 is heavier than 520 so why switch back?
520 setups are hard to find steel sprockets for. Maintain the piss out of the chain and your aluminum sprockets will last longer.

Gearing choices. These seem to work well: 16/42 or the 15/41 is the most popular.

definitely stay with the 520. Afam makes a steel front and rear spocket. I got tired of going thru rear spockets also

also call Scott(cbr400rr), he can hook with the Afam steel spockets.

In day to day street riding is 520 that diff than 530? Is it purely weight? or less rotational mass?

I only ride street, and I like the 520. Rotional mass decrease, also decrease in unsprung weight on the rear axle - rear shock has an easier job to do.

I'm running 15-41/520 right now, and it's a good all-round choice. You might consider 15-42/520, it's another popular choice. Great fun trying to keep the front tire on the ground in the low gears. Wonderful problem to have.

On the street, I'll venture it makes no difference. Some will say it does.
