Default rearset adjustment: up or down?

To all you guys 6' or over, like me: What is the best adjustment you can make on rearsets? I see up and back 1.5", or is it down and back 1" or....?????

What works best, in your opinion and feels better then your stock position?

Shit....I don't care if you're 4'1", I wanna hear what change you made from stock to make your bike fit you better!! This way it benifits everyone, not just me.

Tell us your height, and where your pegs are moved to....up, down, sideways....

Does anybody make a rearset that goes lower than stock? (Cycle Cat rearsets maybe) I am not aware of one, I got a pair of those LHP 360 pegs and dropped down an inch for street and it gives you more leg room but you knee draggers would be grinding them down, however last I checked that LHP part # was not available.

I got a set of cyclecat rearsets and they do allow you to position the pegs back and also down about an inch. Makes it nice for my old over 6 foot frame. The rearsets also allow the original break light switch to function properly. I have been checking their web site (cyclecat) to see if they have released them for sale yet but they still do not show them. I got a set after I called and begged.

I have Satos use the stock location. I had them all the way up and back. It was just too much of an angle on the knees on a long ride. Maybe I will try a lower position some day. 6'-3"

I've got Sato rearsets in the most forward and down postion they bolt to. I have no idea what that is in relation to stock. They feel lower to me, but various websites indicate that they are 10mm higher or back or something... I don't know. My legs are fine-it's my dumper that hurts. A Sargent seat is in my very near future. BTW, I'm 6'6" and about 280lb suited up.

6' 2" here with Satos in the all-the-way-down and almost-all-the-way-forward position. It's most comfortable there for me, with plenty of ground clearance around the corners, but most importantly, it allows me almost enough room so that my heels don't hit the Sato Banzais any more than they have to.

The Sato's start at the stock location, I believe, then go up from there, most rearsets I would think are for performance and better ground clearance going down would seem to defeat the "more clearance" the Cycle Cat seems like a great product because they are 360 adjustable, but do they improve feel? my understanding is that the Sato's are a huge improvment in feel.

Rigor, You rode my rig and I have my Satos up and back pretty far. Maybe u need a longer ride to see if you like the rearset position? Up and back works w/ my Banzais because it actually points your foot more downward so it lifts the heal off the midpipe.

I'd like to get a set that can be moved down also. Would be much easier on my not-so-great knees. I only scraped the pegs of my F4i a couple times, and they seemed much lower than the stock RC pegs.

Dave,

If I were you I would get adjustable rearsets. Remember the rearsets I bought from Fattony......they are 1' down and back non adjustable.

I know you ride aggressive and you would have drug the pegs. It happened to me on a spirited mountain ride. It felt like the rear end of my bike was picked up and moved about 5 inches in a pretty steep lean. Scarred the shit out of me.

Just to give you a heads up.

This is interesting to me.. I have Banzais also and should be getting my sato rears any day now. Should I start all the way up and back then adjust from there? I'm 6' and 160 (soaking wet)..

Save the money from the rearsets and get some damn FOOD! U need a cheeseburger or something. 160lbs?

I got my pegs up and back which angle my heels slightly upward(toes downward), therefore keeping the heels off my Banzais. It doesn't really concern me though since it's only burnt rubber on my midpipe. It's not the end of the world as heal marks are nothing a scotchbrite pad can't fix in 1 min. I just like them in that position and my heals not being on my midpipes is just a byproduct.
