Default Frame construction question

Does anyone know if the main aluminum frame tubes are capped off (sealed) at the top (steering head) end? I have not had to service the steering head bearings yet, so I havent had a chance to see this area from the inside. I have been thinking about using the frame volume as a place to put a little more gas. That is assuming the frame isn't open at the top end. Along with re-working the underside of the tank to fit the engine contours better, (no airbox) it would add a lot of volume without changing the outside look of the tank.
Anyone? Anyone? Buhler?

Default More gas please...

If you can wait a few more weeks, I have completed a 5 gallon tank conversion for the Hawk GT. As soon as my bike is back from the paint shop (color matched the tank), I will be posting pics here and auctioning off 2 tanks on ebay. It has been 6 months in the making, but I think you will be inclined to perhaps purchase one when you see the finished look. This tank was meant for the Hawk!! Your idea of putting fuel in the frame sounds really cool though. Good luck. Anyone interested, please feel free to email me at macfartlane@cox.net I will let you know when I post pics and list the tanks. I just rode 250 miles and still had not hit reserve yet.....wahooooo
