Default Gsxr 600 K6 Rectifier Issue

A pretty chick of my coworkers has encountered issue with her GSXR600 K6.
In fact, it appears the rectifier/regulator is dead, like an old good ducati one.

Suzuki OEM part is 210 euros.....Houtchhhhh!!!!
So, she's looking for an alternativ part and why not a more reliable product.

So, my questions are:

- Is regulator failure a known issue on K6/K7 GSXR600?
- Is there an alternativ way than the expensiv and not really OEM reliable part? (Electrex? Tourmax?)

Here pics of the thing (the reg, not the girl ):

I would recommend you check Suzuki GSX-R Motorcycle Forums: Gixxer.com.

As far as I know it is a "hit or miss" type situation. Usually if the rectifier is not replaced right away the stator and battery go.

Show us some pictures of the chick and the problem can be rectified.
