Default Is my bike ok? 07 GSXR 750 showing FI light

My 07 GSXR 750 has approximately 5600 miles and has been stellar in terms of reliability. With exception to the rear plate light which has an LED I have only added a wire harness for my radar detector and the bike is pretty stock. (no power commander or aftermarket exhaust) As of last week when i started the bike the red light stayed on and showed an "F1" code. I reset the key in the ignition and it went away. No problems.
This weekend same deal except the red light would not go away or reset.
Same F1 code but with a small hint of burning or electrical smell after riding less than 1 mile.
Temperature never went above 175 degrees. I am hopeful this will not be problematic.

So low and behold, I pulled up the diagnostic code (C46) for the set actuator valve. I read the owner's manual and it specifically said any adjustment to the cable's if not done properly ie put into adjustment mode bf tightening or loosening could damage the SVA motor. This is a pain in the ass. Has anybody here done this before?

There is a lot posted about the SET valve.
Go to gixxer.com or gixxer-forum, register and do a search.
Best to just disable the set valve and pull the proper wire from the ECU.
