Anybody install an "07 GSXR 600-750 exhaust on an earlier model?

Howdy,
I am looking forward to my new trackday bike, an '04 600. It has the big clunky stock can and I would like to put on a late model underslung can.
Anyone here done it? I can fab a bracket or trim a pipe, so thats no problem. One guy said his M4 slip-on burns his boot. Is this an issue for any of you guys?

Geez,
Thanks for all the great responses. How about I find an '07 can on ebay and figure out how to mount it. Then I can post pics for the rest of ya'll when I get it done.
