Yup, which is weird cause I've never heard of Suzuki having issues with the motors at all.

GSXR's are loved for the power and thats come from pushing the motors to the extreme. There is a certain % of acceptable fair rates to achieve this. Anyway its a machine and as we all know they break. For example Jason had one of the most well preped bikes and his popped.
I don't think they will give him a new bike. The frame has been titled and that is big deal. Its easier to replace the motor. Suzuki will give the dealer a motor but a new bike late in the model year ain't happening. Also if they take it back it goes into some number thingy about recalls and failures that is not favorable.

just got back. we were watching the wera endurance race and I want to cry because they were going so f*cking fast. The #1 vesrah bike with Tray Batey on it was consistently running 1:15 laps according to my watch and is expected to break the record tomorrow. The sv650s were bad ass too. First couple times by I was looking for a ducati in the group but then realized that the loud ass bikes flying by were sv650s I saw some great racing and passes through turn 4 as well as through the carousel too for the hour or so that I watched. I couldn't stop saying holy shit to myself as I was watching them drop through turn 4 at 120mph passing someone on the outside. btw it was farking HOT

over at JC we had someone crash right in front of us while watching from turn 1. Jeremy got pics of almost all of it. Seemed to me like it was a crash fest for B group at least, specially come afternoon when everyone was getting tired and worn out from the heat.

I sure hope Jason didn't bin it again. For those that don't know Laurie just joined the ranks of the gixxer girls. She got a black on black 600 today.
I rode her SV while she rode the 750 for about a 1/2 hour. In that time I changed the route so we ended at the dealership. I knew from ridding that bike she could not progress any further than she already has. The brakes sucked so bad I was amazed she even was doing as well as she was. Power sucked and was onlt for a few thousand rpm. Anyone on anything could dar around it before you could think about reacting. No issue now. I also like that we have basically the same bike so spares are common for both.

nope he did run off in turn 1 once apparently but took your advice from last time and didn't use the front brakes. He was getting tired I think and decided to call it quits after that. We didn't see it cause Jeremy and I were down at the WERA pits checking things out and chatting with CTR suspension. He did look like he was doing better from the pics we saw.

and congrats on her gsxr. will be a big change for her I'm sure.

new track record @ summit point was set today:
1:12.343 - Tray Batey GSXR 1000

Robert Jensen pulled out a 1:12.768 but couldn't catch Batey.

well i think joe jumped to conclusions... but yes the bike saw temps up to 272 before i could reach for the key and shut it off. i just got off the phone with suzuki customer service today at lunch and they are gonna work with the dealer to figure out the prob. i can almost guess that it will be a simple part to replace, like thermostat, etc. BUT

that doesnt change the fact that i will now own a bike that has a motor not even done the breakin process that saw 272 degrees

these are aluminum motors and im sure with my luck something is warped or some shit like that man ive had some shitty bike luck lately...

bike still only has 400 miles on it... i didnt even get a chance to finish the breakin process.
