Default Fact or fiction?

Visited the Gixxer and Gsxr websites to gleam info about doing initial oil change before the 600 mile service for an '07 GSXR 750 to flush out any
metal shavings during break in period.
I was thinking I might do it before the 300 mile mark but was wondering
if this was a waste of time and a little excessive. Please share your thoughts.
Are there any pros and cons to this strategy?

Are you talking about changing the oil at 300, then again at 600?

I was going to flush the oil and replace the filter at 300 mileas and then again at 600 miles. I'm making more of a big deal out of this than is necessary.

Change the oil and filter at 300 miles if you wish. I would not change the oil and filter ag 300 miles later- unless of course this is a track/race bike. Make sure you account for the old O-ring when changing the oil filter. Don't ask why I know all about that...

Thanks. I'll wait until 600 miles. I saw that article by Motoman about
breaking in the bike differently, but question his credentials.
I ride the bike the way I normally do without totally abusing it like some knockleheads. I'm keeping it under 8,000 RPM's which is hard but the bike is unbelievable in handling.

I'm putting on a rear Ohlins and then doing the fork after.
Otherwise switching my Brembo brake from the previous bike to the new one with galfer lines. Otherwise leaving the bike stock.
mapping seems spot on so far but early to tell.

What's your experience with the 750 been?

Among the best bikes I have owned. I have upgraded the brake pads and added Stomp traction pads. Steel braided lines are next. Other than those few additions I plan on keeping the bike stock. Alot of fun to ride.
