Default mee too...also

After reading magazine reviews and more importantly LDH's own positive comments, I decided to pick up a GSXR1000.

No first impression comments yet, but I will state that true to the rumors
all Florida GSXRs do come with a complimentary matching pair of flip-flops

Bike feels great. Light and way more powerful compared to the RC.

Only thing i may modify is to install a set of Sato rearsets and replace the steering damper with an adjustable Ohlins unit. Not sure if its needed as much as I've become accustomed to the positive feel and tighter steering

Thumbs up

After owning a few r-1's I thought that bikes could'nt get any better than this. Those were 1999 and 2001 models....then I rode a buddies 01 gixxer 1000......oh yeah!!!! sold the r-1 and picked up an 02 gix 1000. Best bike I have ever ridden or owned. Had to sell it after riding it for two years........picked up an 04 Hayden Replica RC 51............. Different..to say the least. Liked it at first then hated it. I believe you either love the twins or hate them, no middle ground. Just sold the RC to buy an 05 gixxer 1000 from a buddy who works for Suzuki Corporate. 2000 miles....immaculate condition.....all stock.....8500.00. Plus he's throwing in another complete set of plastics, two new rims with tires mounted, subframe, and a radiator...oh yeah, and an instrument assy. all for another 500 dollars. So for 9000.00 total its a No Brainer. Pick her up tomorrow.....let you guys know how she is!!!!!

Hi Gsex / LDH or any other "cross over ",

would be interested in your thoughts on the front end as after sp1 and the excellent front-end feedback the gsxr1 k6 i have feels planted yet still vague compared to the sp ???

have dropped front by 10 mil but still not the same feeling as per sp , miss that feeling as it gave ultimate confidence in what was happening ...

Totally different animal altogether & you can't just follow the theory of what works for one bike works for all... Stock GSXR forks need serious help to get any feel out of them at all. At the bare minimum a quality re-work is mandatory. Many of us are using the Ohlins forks as they are longer & with the SBK valving & the Anti-Dive mod they can be described as nothing less than perfection compared to stock...

Hot set-up now is to add some chain links & put the rear wheel as far back into the swingarm as you can get it, run the rear ride height flat & raise the front as high as you can get it & many of us with Ohlins forks are running high sag numbers in the front too 40-44mm & normal in the rear 25-30mm.

The more I ride mine, the more I realize what great value these bikes are. They lack only 1 small thing. Heritage, (in the styling dept). Unless Ducati comes up with a "new" 999 on the same level as the 916 was, they'll be in the same boat. That might be the onlything that could make me change riides. Since I street ride only, aesthetics matter to me.
