Default Trailering bike

Does anybody have a suggestion for rear tie down points on an 06 750 without the passenger pegs on it? There dont seem to be a lot of options...

Use 18" ANCRA soft loops and thread them through the opening where the subframe meets the main frame then hook your tie down to the loops. I think there is a slot big enough to work on the '06, my '05 and '04 use this method, while not being perfect it is a solid point to pull down with for securing the rear.

Why don't you just loop onto the foot pegs & pull forward on them?

Well I have a strap that goes around the bars/grips. I tie that down forward to either side. Front wheel goes in a Baxley. But I think something to stabilize the rear is a good idea, no? The 06 subframe is so formed to the frame that there is not a lot of room there for tying down.

Well I always strap the front down with a CycleCynch (used to use a Canyon Dancer harness, but it totally blows compared to the CycleCynch) & then I loop soft ties either around the foot pegs or through the holes in the rearsets (whichever is applicable) & pull forward again on them that way if the handlebar strap(s) were to come undone for any reason the bike is still be pulled forward & usually will not move much.

Everytime I see a bike strapped down so that it pulls forward on the handlebars & backwards on the rear of the bike I always cringe cause I have seen a bike like that come loose from the front & with the straps pulling backwards on the rear of the bike it just launches it...

we hauled our bikes from new hampshire to daytona florida with two handle bar straps and one threw the rear rims to another anchor point on the floor we had a camera in the trailer -truck to watch the bikes and they did not move 1 inch threw the hole trip--bumpy n rough roads alot of the time too. be sure to use a front wheel chock and all will be good

I have E-tracks in my trailer so I have e-track d-rings set up to hold the rear tires on each bike down. It keeps the back from bouncing/shifting in the trailer and it works great. LDH is right about the CycleCynch systems. I use them and now everybody that rides with me uses them too.

Why not just reinstall the rear footpegs just for the trip ? They go on and off very fast .

Not really an option once I get the track bodywork on there. I am dreading the job of fitting it to begin with, and drilling 4 more holes is just going to make it all the worse. Having said that, the thought of leaving them on there as crash protection occurred to me. I wasnt sure if they might catch and twist the subframe though, so I took 'em off.

I make at least 1 trip a month with a two bike trailer. We also use baxley sport chocks. We used to tie them real tight, but now we hardly tie them tight at all. It seems better to not compress the suspension at all. Just take the slack out of the straps. We've been doing it for 2 years now. It seems the looser you tie them the less they move around I don't know why but its true. With the baxley I don't think you half to tie them at all.

If you have a baxley, all you need is something around the area of the rearsets to come down and forward and your good to go. ( Forget the strap around the bars/grip ) I've trailered my Duc this way for 2 years and the back end hasn't walked on me yet...
