Default Track Prep for GSXR750 K6

So my new GSX-R750 K6 is finally here. Which means that I get to start tearing it apart and putting it together for track only use. So far, I have clipons, rearsets, body work, etc. on order. Suspension and brakes may come later in the season (budget allowing); exhaust will probably stay stock for quite a while, as I don't really care about the power at this point. It should be enough for me for a while at any rate, while I work through my first few track days.

So my real question is what should I be doing to the bike to make it ready for dedicated track use? Are there any good web sites that people can suggest? I am looking for everything from a how-to for safety wiring and drilling to replacing brake lines to anything else that should be "obvious" but probably isn't to me. I am pretty new to the wrenching here too, but really looking forward to it--it will probably be half the fun. Where can I find torque settings for bolts and such? Anything else I should know?

For some good info, especially 'how-to' on safety wiring, check out: www.rc51.org. Go to the mods page, and scroll down to a specific section. Even though this site is about the RC-51, it still has some very good info you can use toward getting your Gixxer ready.

If you have any questions just give me a shout. I'm currently in my second year of racing.

ss? steel ___?

also, noob question but i'm going to do something similar: why is it so common to put new/different clip-ons on track bikes? riding position doesn't seem to be much different.. so is it replaceability?

That is more than enough to keep my spare time occupied until the next track day. I just did 30 mi on the bike to get used to it before I start ripping it apart. Nice. Very nice. Needs work, but it is a great platform.
