I've never been to Philly, but I'm guessing there isn't much in the way of doubles and table tops on his commute.

Ahh, but the new SMC looks (and apparantly runs like) the dogs-bollocks.

Spend half of your 10K for a hotrodded '05-06 SMC - beat up on everyone and still have a decent maintenance routine. Spend the rest on tires.

If you really want to spend 10K, but don't know what and want a reliable bike? Buy a KTM LC4-based model and spend whats left on tires.

The LC4 is the Austrian equivilant to the Japanese XR/L 650 motor. Things a tank, stone reliable and makes fbombs of torque.

Braaaap!

PS: Be prepared to buy lots of tires.

Test ride them if you can big differance between a Aprilia and a BMW etc.
