$31k, you could buy a 1098R for that. It will take a special buyer for that machine at that price. Highly optimistic seller I think.

IMO, this price is too expensive for an SP4.
This price would be good for a 888 SP4S (or 888 SPS), the one with the CF tank and SP5 engine. The SP5 is a kind of detuned SP4S (no ohlins, no CF tank).

The SP4S is the "holy graal" of 888's.

This bike represents the best of the 888s. Like the 998R represents the best of the 916s. IMHO this bike should bring a bit less then what a 998R
would bring. For some reason, although everyone loves the 851/888 bikes, they just never bring big money for whatever reason.Weather
they are mint,customized,SPO,SP1,SP2,SP3,4(will see),5.

From the pictures and video this bike has Euro registration. Can it even be legally titled in the US since that model was never imported to the USA?

I don't believe the bike in the video is the one for sale (it says a similar bike). I'm pretty sure it is titled in the USA.
Yes, a lot o' money, but how many SP4's have you seen here in the US!

That bike new in the crate would bring 31K. It is not a 1992. I have a 1992 which was the 851 SP3 which is a 888 displacement with all the trick stuff. It has 620 kilometers on it or roughly 420 miles. I turned down 34K for it mostly because I really dont want to sell it. The right bike is worth the money and the 888/851 will always bring more money than any of the SSS bikes. A 888 is going to go for 10K all day long where a 996 you would be lucky to get 7K, the exception os the 916 sp, spa, sps series are worth $$.

A good 888 (non-SP) today is worth about $7.5k. A great one might be $9-10k. A good 851 might be $6k, more likely $4.5k. It's brutal out there.

Obviously the SP bikes are a different animal altogether, but if you want a standard 851/888, now is the time to buy.

I don't know how you could have a 92' SP3 unless it was a holdover from 91'? All of my books (Falloon's, etc.) clearly state that in 92' there were the SP4 and SPS.
In 93' there was the SP5 with the SPS engine but Showa forks in place of the Ohlins otherwise not much different than the SP4.

Ducati was known to reissue bikes that didn't sell the previous year.

Tough market for a rare bike in the US. RC30 sold for 10k recently and another is for sale for 12.5k in original used shape. While it may be rare here, the real value to me is how much would it cost to buy and import another one?
