REPUBLICAN-AMERICAN

CHESHIRE — A town man died on Tuesday after a motorcycle accident on Waterbury Road.

Raymond J. Delouise, 56, of 25 Mueller Ave., was riding his red Ducati ST 2 motorcycle west on Waterbury Road and had entered a left-turn-only lane intending to turn left onto Interstate 84 west, when he was hit at around 12:30 p.m.

A flatbed truck driven by Kelly Sigrist, 40, of 448 West Meetinghouse Road in New Milford, was also driving west on Waterbury Road, also known as Route 70, in the center of three westbound lanes. The flatbed turned into the path of the motorcycle, Cheshire Police said.

Delouise tried evasive maneuvers to avoid the collision, but could not. “It happened very quickly,” said Lt. Kerry Deegan.

The crash is under investigation by the Cheshire Traffic Division. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or may have information related to this investigation is asked to call Officer Brian Schechter at (203) 271-5544.
