Ignitek TCIP4 is amazing

• Ok, so I sell it, so I should think it is amazing ... but I didn't get to use one until yesterday. I had sold it and recommended it based solely on customer feedback.

• Stupid easy to install... it has 2 white connectors and 2 black ones. On your carb'd Monster or SS, you see the ignition modules... one of them has black & yellow input wires. The black connectors go here. The other cylinder has the white and red wires... white connectors go there.

• Hook up a generic usb to serial adaptor to a computer and run their software. Turn on the ignition and tell the program to Read the module. There's your current map. Click on "graph" and then you get this plot with the data points that you can just drag around to set the rpm and advance. Click Program and it's done.

• I was trying to get another "Pongo" build running and it was very very cantankerous. I hooked this thing up hoping for the best... the flywheel was already 2 degrees retarded so the bike didn't want to start. I tweaked the initial advance back 2 degrees at a time from 10 to 4 degrees. Then I settled at 3, with the first data point at 900 rpm. Then I tweaked the midrange until it wouldn't pop when revved.

• It completely transformed the characteristic of the engine. It transformed an unruly beast into a smooth purring kitty cat. Well, until you pin the throttle... It has a rev limiter that is setable and actually works.

• One customer also used an Ignitek ignition to convert his Sport Classic to run FCRs. These Czeck guys hit a home run with this box.

DUMB question but you talking that Black Box in the picture at about 4 o'clock?

$200 isn't too bad. In line with the PC type products. Very cool.

I am getting one of these for sure to tweak my ignition. Anybody else using one at this point?

It took me a while to find this thread because Chris spelled Ignitech wrong!

On his website it is spelled correctly "Ignitech Sparker TCIP4 Ignition" under the electrical section. Chris's spelling is cooler though!

I will report here on my success with this unit...
