Scam Bastards!!!!!...I have seen some of the bikes in our "photo's" section on some Craigs list and Ebay ads before and I knew they were not for sale. They will capture the photo and use it on thier add. One guy even had the VIN for one 996R that he got from the regestry! Gotta watch out!

Too funny!
Does anyone remember the hilarious scam that someone pulled on a scammer a few yrs back??
Guy was legitimately trying to sell a Mac laptop (in Britain i think) and a dude replied that he wanted it, but the way he wanted to pay for it was suspicious.... So the seller strung him along forever, wasting his time.. and pasted all the odd an funny emails and requests into a forum for us to enjoy!

Turns out he "agreed" to sell it to the buyer. At this point it was obvious that he was trying to get the laptop and pay with a fake check or whatever. So the seller made a really funny fake "notebook" computer using an actual 3-ring binder "notebook", put a hand drawn screen and keyboard on the inside of it, even a big apple icon on the screen!

He got the buyer's address and shipped off the fake laptop. He actually drove to the shipping address and scoped it out, and tried to catch the delivery happen so he could photograph the recipient! Can't remember the details but I think he wasn't able to catch the guy accepting the delivery...

But later he got an email from the scammer insulting him and stating that he would never catch him! The seller replied that he had all the emails saved, record of the transaction, and photos of the address it was shipped to, and that he was going to turn it over to the police.
I don't know what happened after that but I am not sure he should have turned that stuff in, as he actually sent the guy a fake computer while he had agreed to sell him a real one. Hmmmm.......
Nevertheless, funny as hell! I have searched for this recently to re-read it but wasn't able to find it.
