Really pissed at CRG
This is a bit of a story but here goes. Since I bought my first Ducati in 1998 I have used nothing but CRG mirrors. That would include use on 4 Ducs, a Triumph and a Yamaha FZ1. When I got the FZ this past August I immediately put a pair of CRG mirrors on it. Bought them new from the dealer. So, last month after putting only 2K mi. on the FZ I noticed that the throttle side mirror seemed to be out of adjustment. So I decided to loosen the bracket to adjust the mirror. As I started doing this, the bracket literally fell apart in my hand. I took the bracket to the dealer who offered to contact CRG to see if they'd warranty the part. A week later the part was in but CRG declined to warranty it. As it turns out they sent me the upper half of the bracket only (which was what actually broke) and the dealer charged me their cost for the part. That came to over $21. This is for 1/2 bracket that measures about 2-3" long. So, I contacted CRG and told them my story. Explained that I was a 10 yr. customer and had never had a problem before. After several e-mails I was basically told that they had concluded that it was faulty installation that caused the problem and declined to do anything for me. I am so done with CRG. It's hard to believe that a company would provoke this kind of ill will for a part that probably cost them $10.

I know Pazzo doesn't make mirrors but the make some great levers... My son busted the adjuster screwing around in the garage, called Pazzo & was going to order a replacement, told him what happened, but he took care of it for FREE... that was back in the day when he was just a very small buisness, so that kind of customer support may have changed, but I will keep buying his products.

I moved to Pazzo myself and the customer service was been fantastic. CRG is a stand up company have you tried to give them a call and just discuss it?

Done with CRG after 10 years? All over a $21 part? Seems a bit extreme but that's your prerogative.
Remind me not to piss you off.

It's not the $21 or the part. It's about customer service and whether CRG cares about me as a customer. They want my loyalty? I want their loyalty. How is that extreme?

After being a customer all those years, I don't blame Bruce. Its not the monetary amount. I hate arrogant or don't care customer service. Fixing a wrong makes customers even more loyal and brings in referrals. Blowing someone off is an invite for free negative publicity.

FWIW, the rep at CRG offered me the opportunity to talk to someone by phone. I asked if that meant they were willing to reconsider their position. That was at least a week ago and he has not responded. I guess they just decided to ignore me. I'd like to know who actually owns the company. Maybe he or she doesn't know what's going on with customer service or lack thereof.

well pazzo being the big dogs of levers has lost some of their customer service as well.....recall when they started off and bought 3 sets of levers and had an issue and they fixed it free, now they are like send it in we charge you and you pay shipping again...compared the same situation i had 2 years ago...
so is life

You used it for 2k miles. Im sure you are a very honorable person. Please try to look at it this way. Imagine all the less-than-honorable people trying to get them to replace parts at no charge for things that the end user screwed up. Im just sayin..

You think 2K mi. is a lot for a mirror? I used the same pair of CRG mirrors on two different Ducati's for over 30K mi. with not a problem. Which is one of the reasons I know this was a defective bracket and not my bad.
