Default NJMSP Lightening course times?

What are people's times on the Lightening course at NJMSP? I was there this past weekend and was averaging in the low 1:19's with a personal best of 1:17:93. I have nothing to compare that too, so the info would be appreciated.

Thanks!

my first day there was about the same times. second time, adv-1:17's with fast time high 1:14. 3rd day with new tires ran low 15's and pushing pretty hard low 13's. next time now that i know a couple more places to make up time might get into the 1:11's. think thats about my limit without really tearing up the tires. need to try a different way to run the light bulb turn

1:14's you say...? Hmm... Well, now I know I have room in my time to drop. I know how to drop it too. I just need to use more gas and less brake. LOL.

The Light Bulb is an interesting turn. It's fun to pass people on the outside of it. Seriously though, I can make up time there and on the straight, most likely. Probably in the T5-T7 area as well.

Thanks!

Im not sure if its been beat but as of a month or two ago the unofficial best lap on the Lightning course by a motorcycle was in the :08's. I have about 3 friends who are consistently turning :10's there, my other buddy and I celebrated turning a :11.7 on our last day there.
So there's definitely places to make up time, it's just a matter of finding them AND having the cojones to make yourself do it.

Great lil track aint it?

might as well start with turn 1, you would be surprised how much corner speed you can carry into it. i try to take 2-3 as 1 big decreasing radius turn. i kinda straight line from the exit of 4 to the turn in to 5. 5-6 is very fast, you can stay off the brakes till after the bridge. for a while i was using the bridge as a braking point just to find out i was letting off the brakes way before the turn in to 7. i kinda got to a certain speed in the light bulb turn and didnt push any faster since it just eats tires quicker. talked to a couple guys saying try it as a double apex turn. carry a little more speed into it drift up high mid turn then dive back towards the curbing at the exit. gets you more exit speed going up the hill.
