2K+ miles and it still "has the nubs on the side of the tires." That bike doesn't need to be purchased - it needs to be liberated!

Angus you need to get out more. I know the weather is crap in Ontario from October to June but I am sure with all that you could get to a theater or video store. Canadian TV has movies don't they?

I need to call BS. If you watch the movie, you'll see that the engine designation on Trinity's bike is 996, not 998.

Also, if you read the Matrix page on the Ducati site, it states that the bikes were produced after the movie whas shot.

It's probably just a Matrix edition...The bike in the movie was a 996.

Agreed - the Matrix edition (which is just a painted vanilla 998) was offered by Ducati as part of the farewell to the 916-996-998 model. Initially there was a lot of hype, but I know of several still sitting on dealers' floors. The FE was a better deal; a good used 998s (or better yet, the 998R offered here on Speedzilla) are even better deals.

The real (used in the movie) bike was for sale when I was looking for my bike. They wanted $14,000 for it and it looked like it had been doing duty as a rental for a track school.

And he even included a picture of the sticker to prove it, what a guy! What he is referring to is the copyright and trademark that Warner Bros. has on it to copyright and trademark the Matrix logo and paint scheme. It has nothing to do with the edition or assembly number at all. Nice...

Where did he price a headlight bucket for $39? Seems to me there is much more than 400$ damage to make it mint again.

And if you look in the pic with the girl facing you, there is a yellow helmet upside-down on the ground to the right. If they take care of their stuff that way, I would hate to see the bike up close.

Have a friend here in oz who's father has one, signed and all and has only ridden it twice around the block, and keeps it in his living room with a v-rod that has never been ridden at all. Talk about mid-life crisis.

I'd love to ride that down root 69, and then take a turn on doggystyle road.
