Well I can tell you about my 20 min exp driving one. Lots of interior rattle, wanders worse than 71 Bronco with loose tie rods and for a $52K vehicle the paint job should had not been orange peeled. BTW that WAS a brand new truck.

Theres much more capable vehicles out there than a H2. If you are really wanting a Hummer, get the H1. Since its the real thing and not some rebodied Tahoe than the H2 is.

I was house sitting for a friend for a week, drove his H2 and his girls Escalade. Escalade was a lot more enjoyable.

Lots of Blind spots in the H2 and the ride was alright, but I felt like I was in a dump truck. To friggen big and bulky. Tried parking it at my local grocery store and had to park at the end of a row of spots becaus eI wasn't comfortable trying to squeeze it into a spot between cars... And for a big ars SUV there really is not a ton of Cargo room left with the huge spare tire in the back. (Witch also adds to the blind spots.) Waste of $

Oh yeah forgot to add what a gas guzzling pig it is!!!

If you want a Hummer, get a real one. They are kickass. Otherwise get a Tahoe or Escalade, also very nice.

Like RP stated the H2 is just a tahoe chassis with an ugly body dropped on top with a hummer interior(read bland, but better than the h1). If you want a hummer get a used H1, or if you got the cash the new h1 alpha. But talk about gas munchers... I really dislike jeeps, but the new grand cherokee actually seems like a good suv for a change. And it is pretty capable off road. Trucks (speed, oln, or some channel) thrashed a new $40,000 cherokee with the hemi and it took it well.

Sorry, but no Jeep off the showroom will ever come anywhere near the capabilities of a Hummer off road. As far as crashworthiness - my sister was almost killed when her Jeep Grand Cherokee rolled and was totaled at a speed of around 45. A buddy was going down the highway at around 75 when he fell asleep at the wheel of a Hummer (pickup style, H1). It rolled end over end in the median several times before stopping. He came out with minor scratches and the Hummer held up well. The only way a Jeep is better is fuel economy and passenger comfort. I can't imagine ever looking at a Jeep if you were possibly in the market for a Hummer.

We are talking about the h2 not the h1. The H1 is Superior to any suv in terms of build strength and off road capability. Although hummer wants you to think it is, the h2 is nowhere close to the h1 and is on level playing field with the tahoes, cherokee, etc. I was also refering to the new jeeps...is this the model you sister had, it has only been out a couple of months, I think the old ones were crap too, but this new model is the first model revision since daimler bought chrysler, so I would hope it is better and has be getting decent reviews. Mercedes is one of the most crash conscience automakers around.

That's for cargo? I thought it was for subwoofer boxes.
At least around here they are.
