I am not a big porsche fan, but that rig is just tasty IMO. 650 hp v10 in red or black I stopped in today for a look, $450,000, anybody here have one? if so how is it?
I don't have one, but I have seen and "heard" the red one that was delivered from the dealership that I work at! That car is F-ing FANTASTIC!!!! It sounds like a muffled F1 car and the looks are to die for!

I LOVE all the different camera angles and the sound of the GT is just amazing....for a street car that is. ;-) Look at a few of the corners and you will see the snow on the side of the track.....quite interesting track with summer tires on eh?
They've got one here in Roanoke, VA of all places! I checked it out, and while its one hell of a car, I'm not really impressed with its performance. Now, its a whole lot faster than anything I've got, but for $450,000? 3.9sec 0-60, 69mph in the slalom, and less than 1g on the skidpad (.99)? Not bad numbers, but not supercar numbers in my opinion. Anyway, I love it, its hot, I just wonder why there's not a little more to it.
I've seen and heard one up close and have read more than I care to and I'm completely unimpressed. My main hang-up is how much it weighs. It is a pig.
In every article I've read a great deal is made about how much attention was spent on making every single tiny piece as light as possible. Carbon fibre monocoque/bodywork, ceramic-composite brake discs, aluminum this, and titanium that. It has very few creature comforts (as with any true sports car; kudos to them), seats TWO people in carbon fibre seats, has no turbo system or four wheel drive to add complexity and weight, and is built by a company that used to pride itself for its lightweight car building prowess. And somehow it comes in @ 3000 lbs?!?!?!?!?
By comparison, a Lamborghini Gallardo which has a primarily aluminum structure/bodywork, has almost NO composite materials anywhere, DOES have four wheel drive, steel brake discs, far more creature comforts, no carbon seats, weighs only about 200 lbs more.
To top it off, the Porsche is not THAT much faster in any single category and costs about three times as much as the Lamborghini. On a personal note, I think the Porsche looks too big also.
I don't have the kind of money it takes to own one so my post means little to them. But, even if I had Bill Gate type money and could own one of each and every car on Earth, the Porsche would not be on my list.
My ex boss has one. I was lucky enough to drive it pretty hard. It's difficult to describe. Very peaky motor that just keeps revvin, and Oh the handling. And Omygod those ceramic brakes you can never fade.
