Default Dodge mechanics, Apply within!!

I have a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan. It has a 3.3 v-6 and I added the tow hitch/wiring. My trailer is 1500lbs loaded, and according to my dealership, I DON'T need a trans cooler....... I'm well within my 2000lbs limit. Of course, the warranty is up at 36K and you KNOW the trans will crap right after that.

I'd like to add one anyway, but my hoses from the trans are metal ends with threaded end fittings, and rubber in between. It doesn't look like cutting them is an option, but I have no clue how I'm supposed to add a cooler on this vehicle.

Any help is appreciated.

Dave

**UPDATE**

It appears that my trans lines come out of the trans, go forward, the upwards on the driver's side, then in to a "condenser", in front of the radiator. My A/C lines look like they go in the other side....

Is this a trans cooler?? Does it share cooling resposability with the a/c system??

Usually the stock tranny cooler is shared with the radiator. Most aftermarket coolers are put in-line with the oem one or if you get one large enough, some people just plug the OEM one and use only the aftermarket. As for install, some kits come with new hoses and hose end adapters or a bypass that you splice into the rubber hose line. Most shops can install this for you easily if you dont want to tackle this.

Welp, a little more research yielded: it's integrated.

The top two rows of the condenser are the trans cooler. The rest is the condenser. (2 links of picture view of part)

turns out, it IS the same unit that comes on a factory tow package. we popped the hoods of 3 other vehicles in the lot with facatory towing, and they all have the same set up.

the internal cooler in the radiator has been eliminated. interesting..... since dodge/chry/ply has had inherant failures of their trannys in the past, i wonder if this was the solution?

You can usually add any of the kits from pepboys that include the lines and fittings. Real simple install and if anything will just give you 2 coolers for the tranny! I'm currently having "other" problems with my 05 Powerwagon.
