Default Anyone here in Car Biz???

I have a question I need answered but a body shop wont give me an answer because they want to charge for the work instead.

Can anyone in the car business tell me how you can remove the airbag warning label from the sun visor? It appears to be almost like a cloth or a good quality sticker and almost looks like it is glued on. It is so big it takes up most of the damn visor and looks like $hit. It is on a 2005 Chevy Tahoe.

Any help on what product will take this off without screwing up the upholstery on the visor would be greatly appreciated!!

No Love, the stickers are designed to stay and due to the type of cloth/adhesive used cannot be remove without the mess you have described... re-upholster is the only way to look "clean".

sometimes if you have a "leather" interior, the shades aren't cloth and the stickers come right off...but then you wouldn't have this post right??

Really? Hmmmmm. A body shop told me they could do it and it would look brand new without having to recover it. They said they have a special solution to remove the sticker with. Hmmmmmmmmmm.

Yeah that would probably work.

But I want the visor there when the sticker is gone.

As mentioned above, the kind you have is actually fused onto the cloth, you can't remove it without making it ugly.

If the shop is committing to it, I would probably ask to see a "finished" product... I have tried with Toyota and GM, with the results being a FUBAR'd visor... ha ha try explaining that one when you trade it in!

They may cut it out or cover over...it would be interesting to find out what technique they are using...post up if you get it done!

Cool. Keep me posted. I would be curious to see what they say.
