Allright. You may or may not remember that last summer I bought a 2005 MV Agusta F4 1000S (1+1) used and I struggled with it. I had it two months and about 400 miles and had to sell it. There are other threads in this forum where I posted my problems with it. Well there was a bit more to the story. That particular bike had a smoked clutch at only 900 miles. The chain must have had 3 or 4 inches of slack, it had fallen over and was scratched in a few places, the mirror on that side would shake and vibrate like mad from the damage. Long story, short....that particular MV was hammered on. It came only with one key, no owners manual and no rear stand. It was not the right bike for me.
Well, I decided to try again. I found another 2005 F4 1000S (mono this time) in the same beautiful blue/silver color scheme. It was VERY gingerly ridden by its owner, it has only 1003 miles on it and is perfect perfect. A bonus, it also has Arrow slip-ons on it too! The seller had a 2006 749R next to it and it was also perfect perfect. These bike have been treated with love since day one. This new MV was bought only 6 months ago as a leftover and still has 1 1/2 years left on factory warranty. It may take a bit of tweaking to get it setup for me, but I am more willing with this bike as opposed to the other hammered one. Im pretty psyched up about this, I hope it works out better this time. I ended up making $600 on the last one when I sold it, so I figure the worst that can happen this atime around is I sell it if it sucks again.
That factory warranty wont mean squat if MV goes belly up like MCN news reported thats where they are headed, yesterday. Hope it works out for you. I was thinking about getting one but now Im having second thoughts. I guess that factory rebate on those F4R's didnt work. You may very well end up with a priceless motorcycle statue. I'd rather have a depreciated last year's model that I KNOW I can get parts for 10 years down the road, cuz I LIKE to ride my bikes, not just stare at them. LOL! Having piece of mind that I can ride my bike and not be stuck with a bike I cant get fixed if something goes wrong is worth more to me then owning a collectable that you can only stare at. LMAO!!!!

I didnt see that in MCN - I thought they were pretty well off after selling Husky (as well off as an Italian company ever is)

I heard about it from MVAgusta.net
They said something about Cagiva possibly selling off more of the company to BMW to stay afloat, but who the hell knows. MCN can be like the motorcycle equivalent to a tabloid magazine sometimes with their occasional BS stories. Lets wait and see if Cagiva comes forward with a press release.

Thank you for saying that about MCN. After your first post in this thread I was going to blast you about 'WHO GIVES A SHIT IF THEY GO OUT OF BUSINESS' but decided I didnt care cause it was MCN. Its not even the topic of this thread, but it really dosent matter either.
Paid for the bike last week and plan to pick it up from the sellers warm, dry basement within a week or so, weather dictates that.
John,
Congrats on the new bike!
Was this the same bike that was in the 'for sale' section of MVagusta.net (I think it was in NH as well)? If so, it looks great and well taken care of.
Hopefully the snow will melt soon and you'll have a chance to take it out.

Yes Ara, the same one. I actually found it on nestreetriders.com, our local forums.... Like you say, it IS in great condition and the seller is great too!
Yup, that would be me!
Is this the same 'Joe' that we did the track day together at Loudon?
Whats new? Looks like you go rid of the R6 and got a couple of Duc's
Yup, it's me.. I've gone through many, many bikes since the R6.. I just sold John my MV and my 749R to another member from Brookline MA.. Picked up my 08 1098S today.. Are you still riding? Last time I spoke to you, I lived in Haverhill but have since moved up here to NH... Still lots of nice riding up here in NH.. Give me a shout if your up for some riding this spring and summer..
