Hi Guys, thought I would stop in and say hello!
I took a little field trip down to The Barber Musium yesterday as I always do when I am down in Alabama. I usually hang out at the Ducati section
but I took this picture of the MV F4 and thought I would share it with you. Man what a beautiful machine!!! I was checking the details and was just amazed at the craftmanship. All of the welds look to be done with TIGW by hand, even the aluminum welds for the sub-frame. I was a welder in my former life and I examin welds in the Nuclear Industry for a living now so I have a pretty good idea what a quality piece of work is. Is this the sort of quality you see on all their machines?? I did not see a single wire fed weld on the bike. The Ducati Frames are all welded with wire fed welders and leave a bit to be desired.
Just for my information how is the throttle response on the F4s? I was reading an artical in some motorcycle magazine and they were playing with an older 750 Brutale and were having trouble with the fueling around 3K with snatching. By snatching I mean sudden hits of power. Have any of you found this to be true with the F4s?? The Brit mag TWO says "MVs F4s are Proving reliable, whether raced or toured for 40,000 miles" WOW! that is saying something there. They also say there are next to no warranty claims either.
I could get a new one for like 22 to 23K it looks like. I am sort of having buyers remorse now after I plunked down a 4.5 K deposit on a new 1098 Ducati. Oh well, maybe the next bike will be an MV F4.
You guys got Pictures???????
Cheers!!!
