Default Carb Help please

Well, I finally got my track bike put together after 2 years. However, it seems that I did not lable my flat slides as to which 'port' gets connected to the gas (main).

They are 41mm Keihin's flat slides. Is the main the one by the CR (on top) or the one at the bottom (by the main jets I believe).

Also, I think I have another problem. I hooked up my gas line to both and each time I had issues. When it was connected at the top, gas was coming out of the bottom one. When the gas line was hooked to the bottom one, gas filled up the carbs and was spilling in the intake.

Thanks

Mike

The bottom one is for gas and the top one is an air vent. With overflow issues like that the first thing I would check would be the float bowls to see if a piece of dirt or something got in the needle and is causing them to overflow. Good luck!

Well, I took them apart, cleaned them, but now I have another issue. No gas. Have gas in the tank, gas to the carbs, no pinched lines, but can not get gas to go through the accellorater (sp?) or through the carbs.

Thoughts?

Thanks

Mike

Are you saying your float bowls fill normally but no gas will pass through the carbs? That doesn't make a lot of sense unless your carbs are COMPLETELY F###ed.

Perhaps, though, your float levels are set too low - i.e., there's gas in the bowls, but not enough? That's a matter of adjusting the floats - Chris Kelley has good instructions on his ca-cycleworks.com website.

Good luck and please let us know how you make out. - B
