Remounting battery

Well, I installed the 50mm throttle bodies on my 900 this past week, but I am having an issue. I mounted the battery in the front behind the steering head, but with the bellmouths being so long, I do not have room to mount an air filter for the front one (rear cylinder). I would like to mount the battery on the side (916 style) and was wondering if anyone had done this and what is required.
